Meghan Markle just secretly flew out of the United Kingdom weeks before her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry, and the reason why may surprise you.

People Magazine reported that Meghan quietly flew to Chicago, Illinois this week to finalize her application for a U.K. visa. She reportedly showed up at the VFS Global UK Visa Application Centre on Thursday in Chicago, spending just ten minutes there while wearing dark shades and a White Sox baseball cap to avoid drawing attention.

Sources spotted Meghan at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at around 11:30am Thursday morning. She is planning to stay in Chicago until Thursday night.

Meghan is undoubtedly excited to become a U.K. citizen and leave the U.S. for good, as she has made no secret of the fact that she despises President Donald Trump. During a 2016 interview recently surfaced in which Meghan bashed then-presidential candidate Trump and talked about wanting to stay in Canada, where she filmed her television show “Suits.” When Meghan was asked how then-presidential candidate Trump’s momentum could be slowed down, she held nothing back with her response.

“It’s really the moment that I go, we film Suits in Toronto and I might just stay in Canada,” Meghan replied. “I mean come on, if that’s reality we are talking about, come on, that is a game changer in terms of how we move in the world here.”

“Yes of course Trump is divisive. Think about just female voters alone,” she continued. “I think it was in 2012, the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points. That’s a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is and so vocal about it, that’s a huge chunk of it. You’re not just voting for a woman if it’s Hillary because she’s a woman, but certainly because Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that kind of world that he’s painting.”
